Barn on Mormon Way, Jackson.
I LOVE the light in this! The clouds do look a bit menacing, though! 🙂
It was quite strange, we visited this barn in 2012, the mountains were not visible and the barn was lit in very soft lighting due to forest fires around the Yellowstone/Jackson area, I was a bit disappointed until I returned to the UK and viewed the images, they had a very soft atmosphere and I think they are some of my nicest pictures. We returned to the area in 2013 to revisit Yellowstone and decided to travel on down to Grand Teton to see the mountains that we could hardly see the previous year, I took more pictures of the barn but they just didn’t have the same atmosphere as the previous smokey images, I played around with the images in photoshop to try to make them more interesting but I think I have gone too far with the clouds, I am going to reload the picture into photoshop and make them a bit less contrasty. The moral of this story is no matter how bad the conditions are (smoke filled atmosphere) shoot as many images as you can as they can surprise you. Ian.
I agree, and with digital we can shoot as many as we like. But I still don’t, and am starting to make myself ‘work the scene’ more now!
