I love the way the man made colours reflect those found in the environment.
(Despite the beauty of your landscape pictures, my favourite has to be the one with the lamp!)
Yes I must admit the lamp is one of my favorites too. The yellowstone hot pool and geyser colours were fantastic its hard to believe that they are naturally created.
Stunning images Ian! I am particularly fond of the ghost town shots, specifically the caboose and tracks. I enjoy the intensity of color of all of your work in this set of photos.
Hi thanks for the lovely comments. Yes we enjoyed the ghost towns especially Cody Old Trail Town. Slowly working through all the images, only about 1500 to go. Have you manged to get out on the bike recently or are you being affected by these freezing weather conditions moving across the States?
We haven’t been very cold here (So Cal). We go out every weekend (only thing that keeps us in is wind). We just went to a new brunch spot in Ojai with friends on Saturday. It was a terrific ride… we just bundle up and enjoy the chill. Wow, I am always overwhelmed by going through all my photos after a vacation. Best of luck!
So Cal, lucky people, all we have had for the past few weeks is rain, I don’t think we have had one dry day. Just doing some maintenance on the bike, just ordered a new oil filter and oil so thats my next job and with a bit of luck we will get a dry spell and I can get out and put some miles on the bike.

Wow! Stunning photos, the colours are just amazing. How you caught a variety of colours in the hot springs photo makes it my favourite image. Thank you for sharing.
Thank-you for the kind comments, it is quite amazing that these colours are created naturally. We were lucky that the weather conditions were good and gave us good contrast.
Again it was a single image I took. The best shots I seem to get are the spur of the moment pics or the ones where I say to myself that I don’t think it will be any good but take a picture anyway, they usually turn out the best. Ian.
Yes its one of my favorites too. I was walking back to the car and looked back and saw the people on the walkway, I took two pictures and it was only while reviewing the images I saw the coloured steam in the background, I adjusted the saturation and contrast which brought out the colouring. Very pleased though. Ian.
Thank-you for your kind comments. Took these pictures in September 2013 and only recently started looking through them. I think the delay in working on them helps. I seem to have a fresh perspective. Only got another 1500 images to view (Cody, 3 ghost towns and Grand Teton). Will see if sanity and vision holds up.
Thank-you for the kind comment. This was our second year travelling through Yellowstone, the colours around the geysers and hot pools are fantastic but I was really pleased with the boardwalk picture, it was something a bit different. I am still battling through last years images from the road trip, only another 1500 to go if my sanity and eyesight hold up. Ian.

Hot spring walkway is my favorite…so mysterious and mystical-
…must amend above comment to include preceding photo too: “the plains Yellowstone”…

you’ve created a breathtaking Yellowstone gallery, compliment! I like the mix of nature and old house details!
